British scientists have released results of a study concluding that UV light-enhanced tooth bleaching is not only ineffective, but dangerous. The study, in the journal Photochemical & Photobiological Sciences, found that exposing one’s choppers to the UV lamp exposed sensitive mouth skin and eyes to four times as much skin-damaging UV radiation as the same duration in the midday sun.… continue reading

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – Feb. 5, 2009) – MS Society of Canada funded researchers have found evidence that a direct interaction between vitamin D and a common genetic variant alters the risk of developing multiple sclerosis. The research, to be published on February 6 in the open-access journal PLoS Genetics, suggests that vitamin D deficiency during pregnancy and the early years may increase the risk of the offspring developing MS later in life.… continue reading
