Tanning Industry Says Moderation Is Key

The tanning industry is speaking out against recent comments made by the Canadian Cancer Society, calling for those under 18 to be banned from tanning salons. The World Health organization also thinks that minors shouldn’t use sunbeds. But Steve Gilroy, executive director of a group called The Joint Canadian Tanning Association, which is made up of tanning salons, equipment dealers and manufacturers- says parents should be able to make the choice for their teens.… continue reading
Low vitamin D in pregnancy linked to schizophrenia

Researchers at the University of Queensland say they have found a link between low levels of vitamin D during pregnancy and schizophrenia. Queensland Brain Institute Professor John McGrath says tests on pregnant animals with low vitamin D intakes show their offspring have similar brain abnormalities to schizophrenic humans.… continue reading
