Ultraviolet radiation from sunshine seems to thwart multiple sclerosis, but perhaps not the way most researchers had assumed, a new study in mice suggests.
If validated in further research, the finding could add a twist to a hypothesis that has gained credence in recent decades.

FREDERICTON – Just as the province is about to begin formulating a new set of guidelines for the use of tanning beds, some in the industry say the old legislation wasn’t effective and new regulations should be limited.

FREDERICTON – The New Brunswick government has quietly repealed legislation that made it difficult for young people to use tanning beds. But health officials say new guidelines are inevitable and could be brought forward as quickly as this fall.
In 1992, New Brunswick became the first province in Canada to impose restrictions on tanning beds for people aged 18 years and younger.… continue reading
