Tanning centers in Scotland are now allowed to promote the benefits of tanning beds as a source of vitamin D, despite protest from the Scottish government. A leaflet produced by the Indigo Sun tanning center stated, “Exposure to UV light (whether from sunlight or sunbeds) is the most important source of vitamin D for people in the UK.”… continue reading

The Town of Oakville took the next step towards prohibiting the use of tanning beds to citizens 18 years or older. Oakville’s Administrative Services committee voted unanimously Wednesday to put the amendment to a Town council vote Monday. If approved, Oakville would become the first municipality in Canada to restrict the use of tanning beds to adults.… continue reading
