Skin cancers overdiagnosed

In Canada, some forms of skin cancer are overdiagnosed and over-treated. A joint report from Statistics Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society estimates that 87,700 cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed in 2013. Of those, 81,700 (or 93 per cent) will be non-melanoma skin cancer. Almost all cases of these cancers are slow growing and non lethal. continue reading
