Vitamin D Levels Linked To Uterine Fibroid Risk

Study participants who had higher levels of 25-hydroxy D in their blood had less change of having evidence of fibroids from ultrasound examinations. Additionally by asking participants how long they spend in the sun every day on average, those that sit more than one hour per day had a smaller risk of having fibroids. Ontario aims to end tanning for minors

According to the JCTA, home unit tanning is what drives the risk percentage up so high, in regards to the correlation between tanning and skin cancer (melanoma). Statistically, they say the risk of developing skin cancer (melanoma) through unsupervised tanning is increased by 40 per cent and 96 per cent through medical tanning use versus commercial tanning’s six per cent. continue reading

Women who regularly sunbathe live longer, a leading cancer specialist has claimed. Hakan Olsson says his research shows the health benefits of exposure to sunlight ‘far outweigh’ the danger of skin cancer. He said vitamin D produced by the body when tanning gives vital protection against blood clots, diabetes and some tumours. continue reading
