JCTA Members already restrict under 18s in Alberta since September 2014

The Joint Canadian Tanning Association (JCTA) has been restricting under 18s for UV indoor tanning since September 2014. The membership in Alberta overwhelmingly voted to restrict teens. The JCTA has also been advising non-members, since the legislation has been introduced in 2015 to follow the under 18 restrictions. The CCS by accident in an article out today, may have let non-members know they can still UV tan someone under 18.

The JCTA continue to work with all stakeholders and the government of Alberta to move this legislation forward into regulations.  We understand the Alberta Government’s process takes time and this is a normal timeframe to move legislation into regulations. We appreciate the government involving all stakeholders in this process.
