Many clients are coming in concerned about tanning with all the negative press. What should I tell them?

I would recommend that you respond in a professional manner. As a Member of the JCTA, make sure you have your member logo up, this shows clients that we are professional industry. Show them your personal certificates on the wall – all staff here are certified to operate the equipment. Show them that you follow the JCTA Professional Standards (downloadable PDF) Keep up on all the positive news about indoor tanning and UV exposure. Educate them with correct information and refer them to and ask them to read it and if they have any questions to call you directly if possible. Your clients just want a positive, educated and professional ear and as a salon owner you are that person to make them feel confident about UV exposure.
